Oracle PeopleSoft Integration

A modern tax layer on the system you're not replacing

PeopleSoft still runs payroll for a lot of large employers, and it runs it well. TaxRails is building a native PeopleSoft HCM integration to automate what surrounds it — generating returns, submitting to every agency, and remitting deposits from your own accounts.

TaxRails is an independent platform. Oracle and PeopleSoft are trademarks of their respective owner and this integration is not an endorsement.

Why Now

You shouldn't have to migrate to modernize payroll tax

Most PeopleSoft payroll tax processes were built years ago around custom reports, batch jobs, and institutional knowledge held by a handful of people. The pressure to fix that usually arrives as a proposed multi-year HCM replacement. There's a narrower path.

No upgrade, no migration

TaxRails works with your current PeopleSoft version and customizations. Nothing in your payroll configuration has to change to get modern filing and remittance.

Retire the custom tax scripts

The bespoke reports, extract jobs, and formatting logic that feed state portals stop being something your team has to keep alive through every tax law change.

Reduce key-person risk

When the filing calendar lives in one analyst's head and one spreadsheet, retirement is an operational risk. Moving it onto infrastructure makes it survivable.

How It Works

How the PeopleSoft integration runs

1

Connect through your existing integration layer

We consume payroll tax data through PeopleSoft's supported integration mechanisms — web services via Integration Broker, or scheduled secure extracts where that's what your environment prefers. On-premise and Oracle-hosted deployments are both supported.

2

Map companies, tax locations, and EINs

Your PeopleSoft company codes, tax location codes, and state/local tax setup map into TaxRails entities and registrations, including SUI rates by EIN and state with effective dating.

3

Parallel run and reconciliation

We reconcile against your current deposits and returns for at least a full cycle. Every variance gets explained before TaxRails takes over live filing.

4

Filing, remittance, and notice handling

Returns are filed on each agency's schedule, ACH deposits leave your bank on the due date, and agency notices and amendments become our workload instead of your inbox.

Common Questions

PeopleSoft integration FAQ

No — it's the norm. We integrate against the payroll tax data your system produces rather than assuming a vanilla configuration, and the mapping work accounts for your customizations during onboarding.

Yes. We support both on-premise and Oracle-hosted PeopleSoft environments, using whichever supported connectivity pattern your security team is comfortable with.

No, and adopting TaxRails first tends to make that project easier. Once tax filing and remittance are decoupled from the HCM, a future migration is one less workstream — you re-point the payroll data source and the tax layer keeps running.

We load year-to-date wages and deposits so quarterly and annual returns tie out correctly, and prior-period amendments can be filed through TaxRails when they're needed.
